The largest of the three houses, the delux, is designed for entertaining. The entrance is down a stairway slit into the earth, to an entrance courtyard. The entrance gates open to a large planted terrace and pool. The view is to the north, of the valley below. Walls of steel and glass doors pocket away. The living dining area is bordered by courtyards on two sides. The third side looks out to a shared fire slit window to the outside living room. A 20 foot woven leather gate pivots to divide the private courtyard into two zones, private and public. The exterior living room is raised up, and the exterior surfaces are blackened steel, the inside floor, walls and ceiling is wood planks. The front northernmost section of the outside living room pivots to swing to the west, over the pool, and back into the secret garden. This room has a motorized movie screen that can be viewed from the terrace. The gallery and master bathrooms have 8 foot square butt-joined glass and plate steel window seat boxes that protrude into the secret garden. Two bedrooms and bathrooms share the private garden off the gallery. Additional skylights are provided for cross ventilation and light in those rooms. The visual form of the master bedroom is a steel trowel plaster element. Butt-joined glass roofs define the separation between them. Dotted lines show a horizontal and vertical fabric shading screen, which can be moved north and south to provide shading as needed.
